The Italian woman is warm-hearted, ardent, often violent, able to burst into rage but incapable of holding a grudge once the fury is over. For steady wear, she doesn’t last as well as her French sister, who has more subtlety and more change of pace; but she is an admirable creature, well worth knowing, and it is a shame you aren’t very likely to make her acquaintance.
